I like the idea of an intelligent caring man. One who is not slef-absorbed. Many bigger guys you won`t find that.
I don`t need a big man to protect me as I am pretty big and strong lady myself. In fact I prefer to have a physically dominat role in a relationship because it just seems natural for me.
Finally, just knowing I can kick his butt if I wanted to does give me a rush :) Sharon, are you in a relationship with a small man at the moment? If so, do you 'boss' him around and how does he feel about that? Up until recently, men dominated and women were regarded as weaker and therefore inferior. This led to centuries of male agression and warfare, because the feminine characteristics of kindness, caring and tolerant compassion were undervalued simply because they were seen as feminine, therefore inferior to the masculine traits of power, conquest and dominance. Now, with girls and women being free to discover and develop their own strength potential in every respect, feminine qualities are being balanced by the more positive of masculine values, namely physical and mental strength, courage, endurance and drive towards self-betterment. As future wives and mothers, girls of this generation can freely attain levels of strength that were frowned upon as being "butch" and "unladylike" just one generation ago. Already most schoolgirls of 10 to 14 years of age are as big as or bigger and stronger than boys of the same age. This was also true in the past, but at a certain age girls were expected to become "the weaker sex" in order to attract boyfriends and boost male egos. So even if a girl was way stronger than her boyfriend, she kept it well hidden. Nowdays, however, there is a growing number of men who are powerfully attracted to stronger women, and more and more girls and women are realizing the freedom and even the erotic excitement of being "stronger than a man." One very important point in this new development is for women NOT to masculinize their physical strength by using it aggressively, to "kick butt" (unless it is necessary) but to use it protectively and sensitively, preserving the best of femininity, within the utmost achievements of physical strength. Dominance by superior female strength should only be enjoyed by both partners in a relationship, by mutual consent. Many men - myself include - secretly yearn for the 'feel' of a stronger woman. To be beaten at armwrestling or lifted and carried by a strong lady is an exciting turn-on, but no-one wants to be bullied by someone stronger than they are. The sad fact that stronger men still abuse their weaker spouses is not reason enough for stronger women to do likewise. Superior women are way above that - and that is precisely why the female half of the human race must become the stronger half - to protect and preserve themselves, and humanity, from rampant male aggression. I would like to see strong women the world over, be self-driven and united in the purpose of restoring balance and insisting on an end to the senseless violence and testosterone-induced conflict that is tearing us apart. Encourage your daughters to become as strong as they can be, and encourage your sons and husbands to do the same, if they wish, but to respect - even welcome - the possibility that the women in their lives may be far, far stronger than they can ever hope to be. I am rather big at 5'11 and 184 pounds, naturally strong from the start and years of working out has made me a very strong woman. I discovered that I liked smaller guys when I was around 17-18. My girlfriends could never undstand why I always picked the smaller guys. I liked to dominate physically from the start, no abuse only showed the guy that I was stronger. Carrying him, armwrestling, wrestling etc. I liked to show bigger guys how strong I was as well but they could never take a loss as well as the smaller ones. Being big and strong I want more to protect than to be protected. I love when my man comes to me with a cork that he can't get out of the wine bottle, when he can't lift anything heavy. I have been with men who were much bigger and stronger--and all were very abusive. The man I am with now is very kind and gentle. He is a little on the quiet side but very reflective. He has never lost his temper or said unkind things. I seemed to have taken a dominant role in this relationship, but maybe thats because I am 5 inches taller and 40 lbs heavier. So a smaller, weaker man (or woman) may be extremely strong psychologically or morally or personality-wise. And vice versa. The special aim for physically strong men and women is now the blending and balancing of strengths in ALL dimensions of life. To balance physical strength with kindness and sensitivity to thee needs and feelings of others. To use one's superior size and muscle-power protectively instead of aggressively. And to respect others for what they are best at. Traditional male/female roles of the stronger/weaker sex are now a thing of the past and both genders can incorporate the strengths and qualities of the opposite sex without being stigmatized by "macho jocks" as being "butch" or "girly-man" effeminate. From my observation,women are more open to the idea of being the physically dominant partner in a relationship. It`s the vast majority of men that seem to have a problem with it. The male ego is a fragile one, and it has it`s roots in physical strength. Frequently, men just can`t overcome it.And when they realize that some women are physically stronger, it crushes their whole male identity. I know some men who are very small. You might say roughly 60 percent of the female population is stronger than they. And yet, despite the obvious, they still can`t overcome that culturally induced male identity to accept the concept that women are physically stronger than they. This one guy I know is 5`3 115 lbs. He even gets devastated when a woman holds the door for him or the female bagger offers to help him out with the grceries. The consequence is that they have isolated themselves in a social shell.And until they accept their reality,they will remain a real life version of the "40 yr old virgin". Now, I cannot deny there are women who do like bigger stronger men. But from what I see they are usually uncomfortable with their own femininity and they need that bigger stronger partner to make them feel safe and feel like a lady. So the idea of the prom and beauty queen chasing after the football jocks is pretty much mythical. In fact in some cases, the opposite is true. Look at Tom Cruise and Nicolle Kidman or his latest girlfriend, Katie Holmes. They both tower over him and maybe a little stronger. When I was 15 I dated an 18 year old boy/man that was smaller and weaker than me. He had big difficulties in finding girls his age since he was smaller than most of the girls in school and they all went for the sporty macho guys. I found out that this shy, small and rather weak guy was a wonderful person. For me it was great since I already from the start took the initiative and dominated our relationship. He was really ashamed from the beginning to be smaller and weaker than a girl 3 years younger than him but after a while he seemed to like the situation. We were together for almost 4 years. Since this relationship I tried to date guys that was bigger than me, I didn't have any problems finding men that wanted to go out with me but I never really liked any of these guys. They were either full of themselves or just rude. I then met a man that was younger than me (20 to my 23 years old). He reminded me of my first boyfriend, small, almost delicate, but with a good sense of humour and a warm heart. I could once again be the strong one in the relationship. I didn't let this guy out of my grasp, we are married with children and are nowadays in our 40's. Since weight and hight seem to be interesting for many people on this and other board I'm 5'10, 186 pounds today, he is 5?7 and only 135 pounds. I am a rather small man at 5'8 and only 133 pounds, some say goodlooking but in the past my size had made it difficult for me to find a woman that could cope with a rather small man. We had some more drinks and soon we were making out in her sofa. She told me that she only dated smaller men and the main reason for that was that she wanted to have her way with the guys she took home. I realized that she was not only 40 pounds and a couple of inches bigger than me but also a lot stronger! She let me feel her impressive muscles and at the end she carried me into her bedroom. The day after she told me that she was a busy woman and didn't really have time for a serious relationship. About once or twice a month she went out dancing to find a smaller man to bring home for sex and some cuddling. I didn't know what to say, this was a total role reversal and I felt a bit hurt. She could see this and she said she wanted to see me again. We actually dated for a while before she ended the relationship. Since then I have had several dates with bigger women, I realized that there are quite a few girls that like to be the dominant partner. I am not a real submissive but I have to admit that I like bigger woman (in Holland where I live a lot of woman are bigger than me). Women in Holland are not only tall but big boned in general. I am not sure but 5'8 seem to be the average hight for a Dutch woman today. My current girlfriend is 6'1 and 188 pounds, making her a lot bigger than me. People are looking at us when we walking together and I will often here comments like, "look out for that woman, she could kill you" and she will hear "why don't you pick a real man your own size". But in general people are OK with our size difference. The reason for some women to date smaller men, like the first big woman I dated, is to be in control. If you are out for a one night stand it is of course safer to be with a man that you can deal with if it should come to physical struggle. I still believe that a big majority of women prefer her man to be bigger, stronger and the dominant partner but I also think that more and more women prefer to be in charge. It is proved numerous times that the female muscle is stronger than the male of similar size. If we have a woman with bigger, harder muscles than her man, there is just no way that the man can be stronger. The studies I have seen are in the American case rather old but it was dealing with the subject of age, where older men married younger women and got beaten up since they were weaker. Something similar was shown in a German studie. The Norwegian gallup could show that women hit their men more frequently than the other way around, I think that men in general hit harder so I still think women suffer more from being abused than men. I am sure that women can be rather aggressive but it is very seldom mentioned or discussed. I have (regretfully) hit men in the passed, some of them have been smaller than me and that would put me in the same place as most abusive men, being bigger and stonger. But as a woman it is socially OK to hit a man. I have beaten up a couple of men when I was younger, I am not proud of it since I was bigger and stronger then these guys. I have been athletic all my life and I am pretty tough, fighting is a lot about being tough. The poor guys I beat up weren't tough and didn't really know what to do, they treated me badly but when I came back at them physically they got scared, when they realized I was stronger they begged me to stop hitting them. I really don't think it is OK for a big strong person, man or woman, to beat somebody weaker then themselves. But I don't know, if somebody treats me bad I might still hit that person. I'm 5'9"/145 (175cm) When I was growing up, lots of girls were bigger and taller than me. Often times stronger too. At 17 I was only 5'3". I had an inferiority complex because of that. An early childhood experience cemented my strong preference for taller women. I'm happy that I have several online female friends that enjoy their height advantage over me. It is a known fact that the human female is biologically and phsyiologically superior to the male. The female life expectancy is greater than that of a male, and her body is more complex for reproduction and nurturing. She has a natural ability to lift smaller ones and her strong lower body, well, um, I'll leave that to your imagination. Part of growing up included watching the girls tower over boys A tall female friend confided in me that this is whe way it should be, and I was in total agreement. When I met my wife about 25 years ago (we were about 20 years old then) she was 169 cm and 60 kgs and I was 182 cm and 63 kgs, very slim and sinewy. As you can understand my wife was bigger then me in most bodyparts, weighing in almost the same as me on a smaller frame. About 15 years and three kids later my wife had gained a lot of weight and the scale showed 80 kgs! I was up to 72, not only sinewy anymore but a bit flabby. The strangest thing was that my wife's muscles had grown quite a lot with each child, she became stronger and stronger, got wider shoulders and hips. Of course she had gained fat as well and we decided to do something about our overweight situation. This was about 10 years ago. I took up running and soon was down to my 63 kgs again, I have a long distance runner type of body. My wife dropped down to 75 but couldn't loose any more weight. She worked out with weights, from the start to burn fat but after a while to gain strength. She is today 12 kgs heavier than me despite being 13 cms shorter, most of that is muscle. Her shoulders are massive and wider than mine, her upper arms a lot more muscular with good biceps and triceps, her hips, buttocks and thighs are very muscular and strong and her calves really big. Except for being shorter all her bodyparts are bigger than mine. Already after our first child we started to notice the change in her body and her increasing strength. She could beat me at armwrestling and wrestling. The difference today is huge when it comes to strength. She has once lifted our family at the same time. I was on her shoulders with one kid in my arms, then she had one kid on each arm. She often lifts me up saying that I am as light as a kid. She has lifted me over her head a couple of times, nothing strange with that when she is working out with 80kg benchpresses for reps several times a week. As you can understand from this posting I admire and love my big, strong wife. She is happy with our situation, she would love to be taller than me though but that is the only thing where I can beat her. Big muscular men don't do the trick at all, they look stupid with all these thick muscles and many of them are so full of themselves it's rediculous. The thin guys have a richer inside and are more gentle, and often more funny. Many of them have had problems with the fact that they aren't the jock type. They will grow and glow if us bigger women will give them their self esteam back. Another thing is that you can feel safe with a small man, I don't need a man to protect me, it is so much better to know that you can flatten the guy you take home out with one punch if he is out of line than to feel afraid that a bigger man could do the same and worse with you. He will stay skinny and have good endurance but he will not be a lot stronger. You can focus on working out with heavy weights. If I may ask, why do you want to be a lot stronger? He told me his wife abused him physically and didn't dare to go home. Now he is about 5'5 and skinny so I believed him since I have seen his wife that is about the same size as me. I comforted him, he cried in my arms, and told him that I had left my husband after him slapping me. I told him he could sleep at my place that night and then do whatever was necesarry to leave his wife. I helped him as much as I could and he succeded to leave this awful woman. I realized that I really liked this small but sensitive and nice man. I felt strong and liked him for coming to me and crying in my arms. I don't think he should have left his wife without me. One true story from life. We had an armwrestling tournament during a 3 day conference where women and men met. Places 1-3 were men but 4th came a woman, places 7 and 8 were women as well as nr 10. 4 women out of the 10 best were women! The trend where I am working is that 75% of the women work out more than once a week, 65% work out more than twice a week. They all work out at gyms. 55% of the men work out more than once a week in a gym, 32% work out more than twice a week. 45% of the men play golf and 56% jogg regularely. So even if the women in general are smaller they work out more and women today work out a lot harder than they used to. I am a jogger and tennis player. I lost to 9 of the 36 women over that conference weekend, and won only 8 matches against women and lost the same amount of matches to men. We didn't have time to have a match against everybody so it was a qualifying type of tournament. I have to say I was surprised about the outcome. I am not a big strong man but in decent shape. I'm a smaller (5'7 65kg - whatever that is in pounds) and have struggled as the seemingly majority of girls like the big, tall macho men. I can't blame as it makes sense from an evolutionary point, but it's pretty disheartening.
