Advice

Why should it be wrong for you to not go to fulerans? I don't see that as wrong, nor do I see you as a bad person for not attending. Whether you feel you should attend or not is your decision, it does not mean to say that you are being disrespectful if you do not attend. I have been to only 3 fulerans all my life, my dad's, my mum's and my mum-in-law's. There have been many others that I could have attended, including extended family, but I have chosen not to go. This choice does not mean I will not miss the person that has died or that I do not feel sad for the family members that are grieving because I do.I would just send a message of sympathy and support to any future fulerans and unless the family concerned is your close family or they specifically request that you attend, I wouldn't worry about it. Remember that you can always pop to the graveside in the days afer the funeral and leave some flowers as a token of your respect.I hope this helps a little.
